Remove the wiper arms.
Remove the two screws you see.
Remove the rubber weatherstripping that runs along the front edge of the cowl piece. It just lifts off a standing seam in the sheet metal but it has a small funky T-headed fastener at each end that is easy to break.
Slide the plastic cowl piece towrd aht engine for an inch or so (this disengages the hidden fragile clips that slip beneath the windshield glass), then slightly lift the rear edge and slide the whole cowl piece up andover the windshield to remove.
