I don't think the resistance to spinning while the load is off the bearing means all that much. What matters IMO is how the bearing functions while loaded up.
175,000 miles is enough to be satisfied you got your money's worth. Those bearings (Italian source, these days) can be replaced at about $ 50 each at NAPA. The more uncertain cost is the R + R of the bearing from the hub and carrier. I got a country shop that does it super cheap, so I wouldn't hesitate to just replace them old ones.
I agree with Swedecar about newer parts offering more roll resistance. I replaced the rear hub assembly on an '04 9-5 Arc with 190K and both the old and the replacement bearings are pretty stiff and resistant. Surprised just how much - now I doubt the old rear hub needed to be touched. The fronts? Oh yeah, they needed it.
