Will programming new SID on 2006 fix Radio "LOCKED" ? Posted by Mark in Marine [Email] (#1837) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Mark in Marine) on Sat, 17 Oct 2015 11:30:24 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Help appreciated on 2006 SID (SIU) issue. I am maintaining two 2006's for my daughters - one of them had no warning chimes, no sound for flasher or turn signals.
Long story short, When I ordered this part I did not know that this was the SID guts for 2006 cars. Found post on this board on ordering the part from Speedparts in Sweden ($40 for the part, ca. $45 for shipping). I installed the new unit (it piggy backs onto the main instrument cluster), and now the chimes and flasher sounds are back, but the radio / SID panel says "LOCKED" and the instrument cluster shows "SID Not Programmed" each time the car is started.
Question: Will programming the new SID unlock the Radio / Info panel ? Or do I have a second issue as well? The radio is OEM - I had to remove the radio and ACC controls to access the instrument cluster, but the battery was disconnected, and I was careful to re-seat all connectors well. Car starts and drives okay and cruise works - but no SID or radio !
Thanks in advance,
Mark in Marine
