Did a 4 wheel brake job on the weekend. The right rear rotor came off easy. the left rear took a bit of turning and wiggling. I was going to try to release the parking/e brake by inserting a screwdriver through the adjustment hole in the rotor. I noticed that I would have to cause the screwdriver push down on the adjuster since that turns the adjuster in and brings the two shoes closer together. The adjuster is in contact with the upper spring (which I later observed) so I would have needed quite a bit of pressure on the screwdriver in the blind hole to allow the adjuster to overcome the friction between it and the spring to turn it. I did not find that the e brake pads wore a large groove into the rotor and the shoes were still ok with 50% left. I did sand them down a little to remove glazing. Someone had put anti-seize on the hubs so corrosion was no issue. I also used the opportinity to clean and corrosion-proof the rotor splash guards to help prevent them from rotting away with the salt. The large torx bolts on the caliper brackets were very difficult to remove due to the blue locktite and lack of access in my shade tree garage - they wore me out. The two bolt method and cutting the top of the rotor are two greater alternatives. The German made Zimmerman rotors with the zinc coating seem like great quality. It appears like they coat the entire rotor in a high zinc paint to provide cathodic protection against rust. No pre-cleaning is required. A suitable product for rust-belt owners.
