I used the Pagids for years on NG900/OG9-3's. Good bite, Lots of dust and ate rotors, short life. The Akebonos on my 04 9-5 Aero are long lasting, minimal dust, dont eat rotors but give up a little performance. The Hawk HPS pads were somewhere in between. The only "bad" pad I ever used were the expensive Greenstuff pads, they would barely slow the car at all. So it really depends on what you want out of your brakes.
My Akebonos seem to work fine on my car overall, though a bit more "bite" would be welcome, if these things ever wear out. My front pads have over 60k on them and more than half the pad thickness left, very little rotor wear. 2 weeks after I wash the car with minimal brake dust is kinda nice as silver cars tend not to get cleaned too often.
One thing that folks do not think about is changing their brake fluid ever 2 years or so. Old, contaminated brake fluid can make any pad/rotor combinations feel a bit spongy.
