Someone just posted about this maybe 6 or 8 weeks ago.
We have an '04 95 Aero Wagon and have had all the typical problems.
The sludge issue was fixed in '04. However, always use full synthetic oil!
Here is a list of things to expect after 75,000 miles:
1. Crank Position Sensor
2. Direct Ignition Cassette
3. Rear Springs (and shocks)
4. Radiator, T-stat, and hoses. This is often more age related then a mileage thing.
Here are some things you MIGHT run into:
5. Throttle Body
6. Ignition Switch
7. Coolant Bypass Valve (plug the vacuum line to it to end worrying).
8. Headlight sensor switches (located on suspension) - only if the car has Xenon lights.
9. Battery (36 month life is typical).
10. Rear sub-frame bushings.
The most important thing when looking for a used SAAB IMO is that it has full records, has had regular SYNTHETIC oil changes, and has been well looked after. If the car has no records, you have no idea what you're getting into and you'd probably best look elsewhere.
