Revisiting drv side blend door issue, 2004 ARC Posted by cheaptech [Email] (#1856) [Profile/Gallery] (more from cheaptech) on Mon, 27 Mar 2017 10:38:04 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Why ? Because it really annoys me and a few yrs back tricked me into thinking I had an issue with the ac, should have known better as sometimes ac worked great, other times not too cold, all on driver side .
Prior to working on the AC (evap and recharge) I did go under the dash, pull out the drv side blend door motor, reinstalled and ran the ACC thru some cycles and it appeared to work properly.
Now this past winter numerous times drv side floor blew mostly cold, a recalibration always fixes the problem - but can hear 2 fairly distinct pops every time I recalibrate, never any error codes.
So my questions are :
will frequent recalibrations eventually break something ?
any idea how to try and fix this without having to take to shop or rip apart dash. Would it be feasible to rig a pot that manually I could dial in voltage to the step motor ?
Been a very good car but has been plaqued by ACC faults - warranty work included replacement of schraeder valves, head unit, and some work on the long actuator rods that work the airflow to the rear, all in all I think 4 trips to the dealer for ACC work.
thanks
