Well pulled the blend door motor out and in trying to get the connector pulled out, out comes the part the connector is attached to and the fine motor wires all rip. Then notice the stop arm is cracked. Then take the cover off the motor assembly and one of the plastic locating pins is broke. Not sure this stuff can be repaired but I am sure it's pretty mickey mouse in both design and function.
Contemplating rigging something to attach to the blend door shaft and work it manually - has anyone done this ? Reaching under the dash to adjust the blend door might qualify as distracted driving and I'm really against that. Could also tape it for winter use then adjust for summer use.
Or if someone has a spare I'll pony up some $$$. Will a blend door motor from a 1999 work - noticed a guy on offer up parting out a 1999.
