I have done this 3 times in my 04 aero. Carbon fibre failed twice, then glossy walnet and now finally the aluminum look panel. Seems like thats the only one that cant delaminate but it does scratch rather easily. Hardest part was to remove the radio. I finally bought some proper removal hoops on amazon that had a reverse cut notch instead of the widely available ball tipped ones. Also be careful with the heated seat switches, the retainer clips harden with age and can break easily leaving you with a floppy switch.
Larry West has probably the be write up on this and it is in the archives here.
Bought my aluminum look panels from Gold Wing for 100.00 for both dash and center console. I have seen some of the light non glossy walnut finish on eBay and elsewhere.
