Transmission oil weep, help Posted by Gregg [Email] (#677) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Gregg) on Tue, 12 Dec 2017 12:03:15 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I've got a small weep of oil from the bell of the transmission of my wife's'04 5 spd ARC wagon with 230K miles. I'm looking to top up the oil as I've got the subframe off for other work. I can't seem to locate the source of the weep. Has anyone seen a weep through the gasket before. The last/only work on the transmission was by the dealer when we had the clutch was replaced 120K miles ago.
I've cleaned the area with brake cleaner to find the source and there seems to be no wet areas accept for the bottom of the bell where the bolt passes through. I'm thinking I may just try and retorque everything and see where we are. Suggestions?
Thank you in advance.
Gregg
