Feel the concern . . . and might check battery Posted by Mark in Marine [Email] (#1837) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Mark in Marine) on Wed, 15 May 2019 07:59:39 In Reply to: Re: Funky start on 2005 Arc, Peter N, Wed, 15 May 2019 06:18:28 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I empathize. But 'keeping an eye on it' may initially be your main option.
If, like us, you go through summer/winter blend changes in the gas, that's always a possible hiccup. If it doesn't do it again, then the worry is soon forgotten.
One important and easy thing to check, however, is the battery resting voltage before you start the car. The two SAAB 9-5's I maintain seem finicky with a battery under about 12.3V. If a battery is 12.0V or below, I check voltage when running to confirm alternator is doing its job. If it is, I just get the new battery.
I hope your issue was only a one-off glitch due to climate / fuel / random cause. If it happens again, look for pending codes that might not have set the CEL - then post back, and I'm sure folks will help.
