9-5 'intermittent wiper: new relay seems to work Posted by John Fitzgerald [Email] (#77) [Profile/Gallery] (more from John Fitzgerald) on Thu, 30 May 2019 10:48:13 In Reply to: Re: 'intermittent wiper Help . . .Relay, MC [Profile/Gallery] , Mon, 29 Apr 2013 08:16:58 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Searching through old threads as I worked on my wife's 9-5: this intermittent 'intermittent function' (i.e. rain sensing wipers) has worked less and less over the past few years. This week, it reached the point of me pursuing a fix.
So far, replacing FR11 (with the Tyco xxxxxxxxx-X042 relay) is making it work. Tried it several times in the driveway by splashing water on the sensor, with the wiper stalk up one click, the small selector button in the middle spot, and it seems to work. One sweep per splash of water.
I'll update this thread if it reverts to bad behavior.
