The throttle bodies do go bad, so if yours has never been replaced and your car has over 100,000 miles, it's most likely due. My 2000 9-5 had the original at 225,000 miles, and I was amazed at how much more responsive the car felt with a throttle body that had half the miles. It will get a brand new one at some point in the near future. I'm sure you've seen by now, but you can buy the OEM Hella throttle body, just without the Saab markings, for a little less than the OEM.
