And putting it on your chin will increase the range. Not. Sorry. Try holding it over your head and see if that works better. It's a called line of sight low powered transmitter. If you are in a crowded parking lot loaded with M E T A L vehicles and the receiving antenna is not on top of the vehicle, you will do better hold the transmitter at a higher elevation than if you hold it at waist level. The cleaner line of sight will always prevail. What you really need to find out is if the transmitter is directional, omni-directional or linear. Now that would make a difference. Just a few random thoughts. I love you guys (guys in this sentence refers to all sexes and is in no way deferential to one or the other or other.)
