I saw an earlier post on increasing the ground clearance of an Aero. I would not advise using larger tires to accomplish this. Any tire that would significantly increase ground clearance would have potential packaging issues that may cause safety conccearns.
The best bet would be to swap out the springs and dampers of a base car into the Aero or removing extraneous low hanging parts. (air dam etc) Doing anything else can potentially cause severe issues.
If you were to just replace the springs with base car springs, the dampers may no longer have the correct extended length as reound travel is sometimes reduced on cars that are lowered.
If you were to space the springs you would have the above issue as well as potential overstressing of the springs due to effectively overtraveling them since you did not space the jounce bumper, You would also run the risk of the coild contacting each other in full jounce which could damage the spring coating and cause corrosion. Springs are very highly stressed on the outer fibers and corrosion would increase the stress to a potential failure level.
If you were to space both the springs and the jounce bumpers you would be still have potential damper extended length issues.
