I'm not sure what your're verbalizing here.
This local dealer, if verifiable and doing what you outlined, should be avoided like the PLAGUE!!
Greg, this dealer's info here is BUNKO. Sorry to tell you that but it's pure BS.
The final analysis is ALWAYS : Let the Buyer Beware !!
The way it SHOULD work is the SAAB semi-syn comes to the dealers from SAAB in cartons of 4 liter bottles. Not "bulk" in the sense of 50 gal. drums.
Not Castrol, or Valvoline, or Q-State.
SAAB. A printable 4 letter word.
The cartons say SAAB 5W-30 semi-syn or SAAB 0W-30 full syn.
The cutoff appears to be '03 for "inclusive FULL SYNTHETIC 0W-30". Less than MY '03 = semi-synthetic SAAB 5W-30.
The difference to the DEALER is so little, that many dealers will let their patrons pay 2-3 dollars (total)to cover the cost difference for the synthetic over the semi-syn.
Mine does. A very good legitimate dealer practice. The oil program from SAAB is better than 99% of dealers can but wholesale.
Regards.
