you should use oil rated ACEA A3/B3 in 0W-X or 5W-X - this is currently the prirmary oil specification for Saab cars and this is what they use at the factory - Mobil 1 0W40 to be specific. ACEA A3/B3 rated oil inludes Mobil 1 0W40 or 15W50, AmSoil 10W40, 20W50, or 5W30 DIESEL oil, Shell Helix Ultra 5W40, Castrol Syntec 5W50, 10W40. No doubt there are others. RedLine does not publish either API or ACEA specs on their web site - you'd need to write to them or look at the bottle - but their 10W40 could be expected to meet spec, and possibly their 10W30 or 5W30. Shell Rotella T Synthetic 5W40 has not been tested for ACEA conformity. Rotella T is not sold in Europe, and is marketed primarily at the diesel market, but it meets API SL (the alternate Saab spec)and API CH-4 and it would be a fluke if it failed ACEA A3/B3. At least in NE Ohio, Shell Helix Ultra is hard to find (I haven't found it), while Rotella T is carried nationally by WalMart.
Many people feel that 15W or 20W oils are inappropriate for cold climate use, even though the car will start and run with them, and they do not conform with Saab's primary recommendation for viscosity grades except for regions where 0W, 5W, or 10W arer not available (presumably such regions arer uniformly hotter than ... well, uniformly hot).
Mobil, RedLine, AmSoil, and Shell, and Castrol all have their proponents. I don't think you will go wrong with any of them. One caution - with the 9-5, a quart or so remains in the oil cooler when you drain. It's good practice to pick an oil and stick with it through at least 3 oil changes. Switching from brand to brand to brand will result in a "witch's brew" of base oils and additives in various proportions.
