Indeed the side and front of the Impala does sort of look like a crude and unrefined 9-5. Not that you would ever confuse the two as the Impala doesn't come close to projecting the attitude and elegance of the 9-5. Plus the rear of the Impala is just plain butt ugly. However, just the same, it is unnerving to walk past an Impala and see a resemblance to the 9-5.
