I agree with what the others have said, with one reservation. In fresh snow higher than the front spoiler, the car would not plow through (not surprising). The car handles and stops extrmely well on snow covered roads, and I suspect that an SUV going over about 25mph would not do nearly as well, especially on stopping - we all have four wheel brakes, and the SUV is much heavier. The ground clearance would make a difference,however, in getting through deep snow going slowly. And I suppose it would make that difference on sand, mud, etc. This car apparently doesn't like deep puddles either, because the air intake is low under the right front fender.
I don't go off road much, and I love the Aero Wagon - it's extremely comfortable, takes off like a banshee and handles extremely well. It's not a jeep, but it won't turn over on me either.
