I'll concur with everyone else here. My Aero wagon with the 16" rims and Gislaved tires has been fantastic. I was in the car in the midst of the 27 inch snow storm Boston got two weeks ago, and the car performed flawlessly. I also drove up to VT during one of the early winter storms, and while the 3 hour trip took 7 hours, I found myself driving through unplowed roads and made it through. The "M" mode on the '03's Sentronic transmission was particularly useful for descending snowy hills, though it does override the driver more than I'd like it to.
Only one technology scare, when I was going up a steep VT hill, and the ESP/TCS light came on, and I obviously didn't switch it off early enough (probably 15-25 seconds into the system coming on), and it malfunctioned, switching the whole system off. I smelled burning, and I thought I had blown something, but it was clearly for safety/system preservation (and the smell was my brakes that were clearly overheating a bit too). When I restarted the car the next morning, everything was back to normal. AND, I was the only member of my ski house to make it up the hill...everyone else was parked at the bottom! Not bad for a FWD wagon!!
No SUVs for me...I'll stick to Saab!!
