I remember reading that Saab uses a non-hardened steel oil pan plug so that the head WILL strip before the oil pan threads are damaged. Don't know if it is true, but the Saab oil pan plug head definitely does round easily.
After buying a new drain plug, try using a pipe wrench or channel locks or vise-grips to remove the old plug. Then use a 1/2" 6-point socket on the new plug (1/2" = .500' vs 13mm = .511", in this case the 1/2" socket should fit nice and snug).
