My reasons for trying the ceramics are similar to those of Stephen Goldberger. I have read postive and not so positive comments on EBC pads, so I figured I would try someting different. I decided to try the same pads as Razl bought, same price from tirerack, and a pair of unslotted Zimmerman rotors from eeuroparts ($86 with free shipping by Fedex). The total parts cost in about $160 for front rotors and pads.
I do not expect any miracles with the ceramics. FYI, the OEM pads and rotors have worn awfully fast. I measured the wear on my 1990 C900T with original rotors, and at 140k miles the rotor wear is about half that of the 9-5 at 36k miles.
