All SAABs (since 1994 with the NG900, I think-at last my '94 SET did) have had the solar reflecting glass that blocks out I think 50% of the solar rays, keeping the interior cooler than cars with regular glass.
How much will tinting really add (other than aesthetic appeal) to reducing interior temperature given that our cars already have the solar reflecting glass? Is it worth the cost?
That's why I haven't bothered tinting the windows in the 9-5 wagon (with charcoal interior but vented seats!) even though I live in the heart of Dixie. It would just be as efective to tilt the sunroof to equalize the temp when the car is parked, I would think. Cheaper, too. Originally, I didn't want to buy a car with a dark interior given our hot summers, but the vented seats really do the trick. And the rear A/C vents for the kiddies in the back were a plus.
Also-keep in mind that tinting also reduces a radar detector's effective range of detection (if you use one). That's the main reason I didn't want tint. The way I drive, I need all the range I can get! :-)
