Washing my Aero was risky business last night...

So I'm giving my '02 Aero wagon a fine cleaning (those blasted 17" alloys coated with brake dust - ugh!) when I hear gunfire. I turn around and see someone firing a very large pistol (don't know anything about guns) at someone running a half block away. 5 or 6 shots - hit the victim in the chest. The gunman turns around, runs the opposite direction from where he came, and throws the gun into a school yard. Within 30 seconds there were a dozen Crown Vics on/racing to the scene. Gunman was giving the arriving cops some song and dance and since they didn't see the crime in action, they didn't immediately detain him. They figured it out and he immediately tried to flee, but they caught him a block away. I then located the gun for them -- they were pretty amazed at the size.
So there's city living for you. And I'm in a nice neighborhood - values are soring - but it's urban for sure.
Rest assured, my very clean Aero is safely in the garage...and the gunman is behind bars.
So much for a nice summer evening babying my Saab!
