Does Saab offer the dealer money to offer demoes?

My mother-in-law was looking at a "new" 2003 Linear wagon with about 5,000 miles on it. The dealer first told us it was $4K off sticker, plus incentives, then he told us later that the $4K WAS the incentives. I started throwing out phrases like "bait and switch" which probably endeared me to the salesman.
But anyway, they wouldn't answer my questions about how much Saab gave them to use this car as a loaner. They kept telling me how generous they were by selling it as a certified used car for only $500 OVER sticker, then applying the incentives.
If we were to make an offer on such a car, how much should we reasonably subtract due to the fact that it is a demo? Is the amount the same for all Saabs, or are the 9-3s different?
Thanks!
