Although the polished aluminum body of most aftermarket valves looks great under the hood, they really don't give any performance boost if you OEM valve has not failed.
The function of these valves is to relieve the boost - not increase it! The diaphragm style operating mechanism (OEM valve) is also faster than the piston style (Hyperboost and others) at both relieving and restoring the boost! Relieving the boost quickly helps to promote engine life, restoring it quickly gives better performance and less turbo lag.
They look flashy, but if your OEM valve is still working these aftermarket valves are close to being snake oil. They do have a benefit however, for engines which have been modified for higher boost pressures.
