As Jason said, many (all?) of Amsoil's oils say either "meets" or "recommended for," but not actually "approved" or "certified." Since ALL of Mobil's other M1 oils are officially approved or certified against their respective specs, I'd have zero hesitation in using the new 5W-40 in ANY Saab application, be it ACEA or GM-LL.
I'm sure Amsoil's oils COULD be approved and/or certified, but the fact that they aren't gives me hesitation. Certainly, they're charging enough to cover the costs of the tests, & the Amsoil client base (some of the most rabid product loyalists (& I mean that in a good way)) could only grow by adding them.
