In the morning, when I start, I put the GB in neutral before I start, then clutch fully down, I have problems getting into reverse. Some resistance and the gears grind. Only happens at an overnight cold start. It feels like the clutch does not disengage completely and there is some clutch drag that is spinning the GB at this time. No other issues.
If the clutch when disengaged is does not transfer any rotation to the GB, then grinding would be impossible. When the engine is idling and the clutch is depressed, then some GB rotation should exist which should spin down fast in a cold GB. When I have this problem, it really does seem like there is a sustained rotational force in the GB, and if I get into gear, clutch still down, and bet back into reverse, it can happen a second time. I now am pushing the clutch through the floor forcefully, so I know its not me and the petal contributing to this.
Anyone else have anything like this or ideas on what might be wrong?
I guess I could leave the GB in reverse and just start with the clutch down, but that would not solve the root problem, just be a work around.
I described to the service advisor, but he came up blank.
I am thinking the cold clutch master cylinder might be cranky in the morning, or the clutch is not throwing out properly in the morning. This can happen on a cold morning or so far even in lower 70's. And does not happen every time. This have been going on for a long time. I will try pumping the clutch MC a few times and see what effect that might have.
