I never said the 9-5 was a bad car, just one that is in desparate need of a model change over. It is not keeping up with the competition technologically. Newer cars are quieter and their mechanicals operate smoother. Newer cars are offering Bluetooth, Nav systems, satelite radio, in dash CD changers and interior syling that some (no me) find very dated (not too different than what was in 9000). Nine plus year model runs are too long. The 9-5 also has many features that others don't have, but after so many years what is starting to stick out is what it doesn't have that the competitors do have.
My preference for the Arc over the Aero was mainly that I felt the suspension was a bit too stiff for me, especially when compared to my too soft '99. Also felt the non-Aero seats fit me better. Not sure what to think of 9-5 with an automatic transmission and I feel less turbo lag with my 5 speed manual, however south Florida traffic dictates that I finally make the switch to an automatic.
