I used to love F1 (back in the Jackie Stewart days) but then got sick of their snobbishness and the fact that rule changes reduced passing. I tuned them out for about 15 years. During this time, NASCAR became more like racing and less like pro-rassling and, after I moved south, I began to follow it some.
But lately, I find myself getting up at oh-dark-thirty to watch qualifying on Sat morning and the F1 race on Sun morning. Speedvision. Give it a try. It is fun again, and getting more so. (I don't know why, but it is ;-)
Interesting to watch: the manufacturers seem fed up with Bernie Ecclestone taking all the money and pushing things towards pay-per-view. So, they're talking about starting a rival series when the F1 Concorde agreement expires. And, with all the big players gone to a new series, exactly what would ole Bernie have left? I can't wait: I hope they do it!
