I get a weekly newsletter from AutoExpress, a UK-based publication. I just now received their review of the upcoming 9-5 revisions. I'd provide the URL to the article, but one has to sign up (free) to get access. If interested, you can find them at http://www.autoexpress.co.uk
Here's an excerpt from their review that interested me:
"Where changes have made a big difference is in the chassis itself, which feels tauter, particularly at the front end. With a stiffer and lighter subframe and tweaks to dampers, springs and roll bars, there is now far more balance to the 9-5's handling. Gone is the jiggly feel from the front wheels when cornering hard. And now there's a pleasing refinement over rutted surfaces, while the previous tendency of body roll is reduced noticeably. Saab has also worked on the 9-5's steering response, and although the dead-ahead position feels remote, turn-in and mid-corner feedback is vastly improved. What's more, the firm aims to enhance the handling with a combination of its new ESP skid control and uprated ABS. This works well, but Saab's cautious settings mean the electronics intervene way before the car's limits are reached."
They went on to say good things about Saab's new V6 diesel (38mpg, 176hp, tons of torque) that we won't get over here :-(
