I'm filled with grief after my car slide off the road and his a tree.
Most important, the SAAB performed like it was suppose to, no injuries, except to the SAAB.
Even thought the speed at impact was less than 25 mph, the right fender, hood, grill, front bumper, radiator, a/c condensor, headlight assemblies, and windshield need replacing.
Insurance wants to total the car citing repair of $8500 usd.
I've dealt with the repair shop on other occassions before and am confortable with the expectation of a "good as new" car after repair. They offer lifetime warranty on repaired items.
Obviously, I can't force the insurance to repair, but I feel their estimate of cars value, $10700 is low (no offense to anyone in the adjuster line of work).
I'm going to argue for repair provided there's no damage to the turbo or frame, but I'm trying to get some insight so I can argue intelligently with the Ins Co.
Anyone know how the insurance industry sets the rates?
SAAB is 9-5 SE V6 with 17" rims with 73,000 miles.
thanks, I hate this sinking feeling.
