Insurance co's pay retail.... Posted by Mike Lynch [Email] (#81) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Mike Lynch) on Fri, 31 Dec 2004 12:19:32 In Reply to: another accident, Tom, Fri, 31 Dec 2004 08:04:20 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Which is to say the a 1999 SE V6 with 73k has a wholesale book of $11k ish and probably is worth $8kish ("3 grand back" in used car lingo) in trade, so $10,700, or $2,700 more than trade in value, ain't too bad of an estimate on it's retail value.
Even if they're a little low on the value of the car, the estimate has a habit of creeping up considerably too offsetting that.
You could take the offer, buy the salvage and fix the car and have $2k left over as compensation for a salvage car, just a thought.
