Linden, Prepare for a shock.Entry level pay in pubs or catering trade is only at national minimum wage level, in pounds that is £3.50 (pounds sterling) an hour or 4.00 pounds if you are over 21 years of age.
In London accomodation is EXTREMELY expensive. Unless you have the odd 100,000 pounds to buy an apartment (small) you have to rent . It`s easy to rent a house or flat with other people in which case you`d get a room and share everything else, starting prices probably 75 pounds a week. This is much cheaper elsewhere in the south, very much cheaper in the midlands or the north.
Petrol (Gas) is MEGAEXPENSIVE compared with just about everywhere in the world, food and clothes I believe half as much again as in USA but cheaper than say, France or Germany. Then there is the question of a work permit if you are a non European Community resident, but thats another story.
