I have one of the first RRFPR from the old GP6 shop and it provided a noticeable difference with the GP6 APC when you add the rrfpr. Apparently if you want the mouse to roar you have to feed it (with apologies to Chevrolet!)
I had a lot of trouble with it from the get-go...it went back to GP6 twice and cost me about $150 in shop labor (luckily I kept the old fpr in the trunk) until I learned a malfunctioning fpr makes your engine run like scato. OTOH, after the second rebuild evidently GP6 (maybe one of their guys works for SPG9 now...I don't remember...I don't have controlling legal authority) learned what works and what doesn't and the thing has functioned well for about 4 years.
SPG9 has a newer, more compact design rrfpr that appears NOT to have (to NOT have is a split infinitive and a no no according to Miss Grundy) the problems of the original GP6 rrfpr and also appears to be more compact. At least the one I bought for my volvo turbo is.
The jury is still out on the oversized injectors (perhaps an unfortunate choice of words in view of the, umm, election). I went up one stage and about the only thing I noticed is, maybe, a smoother idle and better off idle acceleration...which is pukey to begin with (automatic trans...just as well it didn't add 100 ft lbs of torque, know-what-I-mean, O hello, Mr. Nitrous....). OTOH, I'm only running about 17psi boost and the stock ignition/pressure retard unit so maybe it's getting as much fuel as it can with the stock setup.
From what I hear, I think I would rather have put the SPG9 improved pressure retard can on before I went to oversize injectors....the price is about the same and the performance is probably better. It wasn't available when I went to the larger injectors. But with the available retard and the increased boost (try stage II APC!) potential, THEN you'll need the oversized 24# injectors. Probably won't need 25% bigger (than 24#) injectors unless you boost over 20# and you might want a better intercooler and different A/R turbo to go there, and there goes your trans.....it never ends!
PS...the problem with putting all this stuff on is that when the body starts to go on the beast, you hate to write it off (sometimes I wish it had just be totaled like my 84, RIP)...mine is in the shop now for about $1800 worth of new front fenders and paint, totally uneconomical according to She Who Must Be Obeyed, who is also remarkably tolerant these days. So be warned...
