I agree with Jake -- could be a CV joint. In first gear in an open parking lot, try making tight circles left and right... if you hear clicking on one side or the other, it's DEFINITELY a CV joint going south on you.
Another possibility, though not as likely, is the toe-in adjustment on your front end alignment. Sometimes a pothole will knock the alignment on one of the front wheels a degree or so out of whack. In time, you might notice more wear on the edges of a front tire. When you lift the throttle, the car's weight shifts more to the front wheels, and an alignment problem often shows up as unwanted steering changes when you do that.
You say all the front end components are tight, so check the CV joints, and if that's not the problem, have your alignment checked. Good luck!
