stalls after approx. one mile Posted by Peter [Email] (#2804) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Peter) on Thu, 21 Dec 2000 09:02:57 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
My '91 900S automatic starts fine in the morning but stalls after about a mile. At first, it would start right back up. Now, it takes a minute or two before starting again. Drives fine after that. We replaced plugs, points, wires, rotor and distributor cap. Didn't help. Then we swapped my ignition control module for a used one from a parts car (assuminig but not 100% certain it was working). Seems to stall less often, but when it does quit it takes longer to restart.
I've read a lot of posts here about "cold start" stalling. My car likes to get me out of the neighborhood before stranding me. Could it be related to engine temperature?
Thanks,
Peter
