'92 900S (150K). In 20degree Maryland. Little or no heat (kinda like the heat pump in my house-tepid heat at best). Replaced t-stat, coolant, thermoswith and fan fix early last spring after suffering thru cold winter with no heat whatsoever. That fix seemed to help matters by giving me some marginal warmth during the spring and fall months. But now I’d like some real heat.
Heater valve does seem to work as I can regulate the little heat I am currently getting. Valve does not seem to be stuck or the connecting rod unconnected. No coolant leaks on floor.
I am leaking some coolant externally due to some coolant hoses moved around to get to the alternator which had the bushings replaced along with the drive belts recently. But that seems to be a separate issue. I've heard of the heater hoses being blocked just prior to the firewall (by the compressor) and the heater core needing flushing. Does anyone have a suggestion for this heater fix? Also, any suggestions as to where the exterior coolant leak is coming from? All the connections have been tightened.
