Hello all-

Here's another problem I've encountered with my 87 900t. I need to get the pipe that runs from the turbo to the catalytic converter replaced. There is a pinhole in it right before the cat that is steadily getting louder. And, just as annoying, exhaust gasses leak out, and appear near the passenger side wheel well, from timer to time making my heart skip a beat thinking that my car is on fire.

Here's my question - I've never done any exhaust work, but I've heard that it can be difficult (my brother once upgraded the entire exhaust system on his jetta himself, only to discover that there was a pinhole somewhere, making the car louder than before he started). So, is this something that I want to tackle myself? If so, where does one get a downpipe? Can someone recommend an online source? If the recommendation is not to fool with it, then where should I take it? I've had other cars in at the local Meineke Muffler with satisfactory results. Is this something I can trust them with, or should it be dome at a Saab-friendly shop?
