You say the cruise control was removed by the previous owner? This could be your problem. I made the unfortunate mistake of taking out my cruise control a). because I never use it, b). was going to do some modification in that area. Big mistake! I noticed later in the week after removing the entire system I only had base boost! My car is heavily tweaked...what a gut wrenching feeling. I immediately went home and installed the entire cruise control system. I had pulled the vac. line out of the firewall ! After putting it all back in boost came back into the red.
I asked Mike Schadan the mechanic at SPG9 what happened? He said the crusie pump must have electrical continuity in the plug. By unplugging the system the apc went to base boost, even though I never use the cruise.
