Need to bleed air out.... To allow water to flow through the radiator (and the temperature switch to work)...one has to bleed the air out of the top of the thermosat housing after refilling the water while the car is running and circulating water...
The water housing thermosat has a water bleed nipple which you open slightly until you see a small steady flow of coolant out...no air bubbles...without bleeding you can get an air "trap" which does not allow the coolant to flow thru the radiator...
