It's not fundamentally difficult, just a pain in the xxxx because just about everything you're working on is going to be greasy. The Bentley manual has good instructions. The only item they don't mention is that the bolt that attaches the steering column to the rack can be most easily accessed by removing the rubber boot where the steering column goes through the firewall. Flare end wrenches (17 & 19 mm ??) help undo the hydraulic connections.
Reinstalling the boot can be difficult, but liberally spraying with soapy water helps greatly.
While you're at it, consider replacing the rubber boot where the gear shift and parking brake cables go through the firewall. It's probably torn. You'll have to disconnect the gear shift shaft and undo the two parking brake cables from the handle.
