Well, this sure sucks.. when i bought my 86 SPG i knew that the hood had been repainted.(badly) It was done with crappy paint and a crappy clearcoat. It didnt even match right. I dont even think that 86 edwardian grey has a clearcoat. Anyway, i was planning on re-doing it eventually ...ie: after spending money on more fun things. Well, the car's tranny has been dead and the car's been sitting in my girlfriend's driveway for a couple months. It was fine until our storm a couple of weeks ago. We got about a foot of snow and the car was covered. I just left it like that.. Well, we've been getting some warmer days now and it seems that while melting, the snow took off some of the crappy clear coat on the hood! It looks terrible. So.. i am wondering if anyone's bought the required paint, etc to do a hood? I know someone who can spray it for me (done plenty of paint work) as long as i prep it and buy the stuff. How much would it cost for Sikkens Edwardian grey 158B? I was told that it doesnt have to be sikkens because i can supply the paint code and have the paint mixed from any brand. Any thoughts?
