my wife thinks its madness, not a hobby. i have to "sneak" repairs! she has me tell her stories about saabs and my car repairs as bedtime stories. o.k. enough, she could be monitoring my postings...
anyway, your pivot bolt should not be tightened prior to completing the tensioning - this is counterproductive to allowing the bracket to move with the tension. the tensioner is tedious. monster had notes posted on his water pump r&r that i assume you didn't find. apparently, removing the waterpump pulley (four bolts) is a very easy way of removing the belts. you still have to loosen the alt bracket but its better than the damn tensioner.
i can't help you with the AC bolt. i have found that removing the AC tensioner pulley provides a decent look at the water pump. you just need 4' arms to reach it.
good luck
