a quick emissions question... Posted by dan [Email] (#2459) [Profile/Gallery] (more from dan) on Sun, 4 Feb 2001 19:31:45 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Got the big NO on my emissions test. TH estandard for HC(ppm) at idle is 220 and my 88 900T was putting out 755. The car does fine in the high speed test but fails at idle. I don't even know what HC means so I'm not sure if it would be due to a fuel mixture that was too lean or too rich...I replaced the cap and rotor as they were lookin' real bad and pray that the problem is solved...but if she fails again, I have to pay again. THe idle was a bit high (979) but there is no idle adjustment screw on the Throttle housing...and I don't think there ever was seeing as there aren't any threads in the hole.
Anyway, is there anything obvious that should be done to reduce these mysterious HCs? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, dan
