On my drive home yesterday I had to slam on my brakes and stop hard three times from ~40mph in about 7-10 minutes. (I have a hellacious commute surrounded by amazing idiots:) anyhoo, noticed that the second stop had more drama and the third was very exciting, did not think I was going to stop. That was the first time I have had any noticable fade from my baby. Is the brake fade from brake design or pads? Would better pads handle the heat better? I have the vented rotors and rebuilt calipers. Original brake lines w/ synthetic fluid. What can be done to lessen the fade other than try another way home??
