I guess we are lucky here in Ottawa. There are 2 Saab dealers and both try to resolve the hard to find problems with reasonable care. There is always the floor rate for them to worry about. An indie usually doesn't charge for a quick thought on the cause of a problem (as an example, on a recent drive from Ottawa to NC I stopped in and Tom Townsend spent over half an hour giving me a techie's guide as to how I should look after my 1987 900 covertible - how many dealers would do that??).
Best advice, state the problem, don't offer a potential solution which may send the mechanic off in the wrong direction, be polite and when unsatisified, immediately ask to talk to next person in the chain of command, moving up until a mutually agreeable solution is found, don't be unreasonable, they really do want you back for the routine stuff.
Best of luck.
PS we have a house in Florida and expect to use Scott Saab in the Tampa area for the 1987 and the 1996 900S.
