they don't care for or about the C900's. They want to sell you a nice shiney new one, with a warranty. I don't blame them.
The deal with the Torx screwdrivers: Mechanics at dealers are usually indy contractors who work for the dealer, not Saab USA. Its not SAAB USA's problem or responsibility to ensure that a C900 trained technician is on hand at all times, and frankley, SAAB USA does not care about the C900's. Again, they want to sell their new mass market cars.
Take it to an Indy or do the work yourself. Unfortunately, Its not a situation that you can change, or that all us C900 owners can change. Now, the NG900/9-3/9-5 guys, well, they have a voice, the voice of the New Saab.
Sorry about your bad experience, although it does not sound life threatening.
