Brake pedal to floor - m/c, right?

Brake pedal has started sinking to the floor under moderate/heavy braking. Once it's sunk, pumping it once restores full braking pressure.
I'm assuming it's the master cylinder. Just wanted to run it by you guys for confirmation. Anything else it could be?
Also, is it going to slowly get worse, or just fail altogether? What usually happens? Is it safe to drive it for a couple of weeks?
TIA
