the old shocks have been on long. Rust tends to weld the lower bolt into the metal sleeve which passes thru the lower rubber bushing. I've done a bunch of work on old saabs, and my lower mounts were the worse! There is not much room there either to get good leverage. I wound up taking the spring and lower spring plate off and cut both ends of the lower bolt (head and nut) off. Was a pain! Hopefully, yours will go easier!
